Evolve Release Date Leaked? Retailer Has Game Listed for September [RUMOR]

Australian Retailer Has Evolve Listed for September Release

The last word from on the acclaimed Left 4 Dead developer Turtle Rock's next release, Evolve, had the game set to release sometime in the fall. As we've seen time and time again, it looks like retailers have taken to playing the guessing game as to which autumn month the game will rear its head.

OzGameShop had the PlayStation 4 version of the game listed for a September 5 release. The listing has since been changed (all versions of the game are without a release date), but not before a capture of the listing was shared via the wonderful world of Reddit, seen below.

If true, the other versions of the game would likely also arrive at the same time, but given the removal of the date, don't count on September 5 as "Evolve Day."

The game was the big cover story of Game Informer's February issue, and while nothing specific about the game's release was given, there was a wealth of other information on the enemies, environments, character classes, and more. Check below for a recap, and

Like Left 4 Dead before it, Evolve will be a multiplayer experience, though there have been talks about a 'solo experience.' The game takes place on an alien world in a lush, outdoor environment, filled with dangerous wildlife that the player must hunt down and destroy to keep human outposts safe.

Instead of a simple shoot now ask questions later attitude, players will have to use visual clues like tracks to find their prey. At the same time, the monster they're hunting can also play the part of part of predator with another player at the controls. While the creature starts out small, it can grow larger and more ferocious by feeding on wildlife.

Classes humans can choose from include Assault, Medic, Support, and Trapper. As you might expect, Assault players are aggressive shooter types, Medics can provide health boosts to the team, Support can apply various power ups and shields, and take a guess at what Trappers do. All classes will need to work together in order to snag the beast.

Expect more information to trickle out in the next few weeks.
