'Pokemon Go': How To Catch Santa Pikachu And Hatch Gen II Baby Pokemon

"Pokemon Go" has started adding new Pokemon after its latest update. Players have reported Generation II monsters as well as a rare Christmas-themed Pikachu. Niantic Labs is expected to release more new Pokemon in the coming weeks, but players can start capturing these freshly revealed monsters.

VG24/7 reports that there are currently seven known newly added monsters in the lastest update for "Pokemon Go." The new pokemon were introduced in Generation II's Gold and Silver. These are Pichu, Cleffa, Magby, Smoochum, IgglyBuff, Togepi and Elekid. Some of the baby Pokemon can be evolved into existing types in the original game.

"Pokemon Go" players should note that these Pokemon cannot be currently captured, but only hatched through eggs. A guide on how to obtain these Pokemon will be detailed below. Additionally, it will include some tips on how to catch the elusive Santa Hat Pikachu.

"Pokemon Go" Generation II hatching guide

Players can obtain this baby Pokemon from a 10km egg. It will evolve into a Jynx after players feed it 25 Jynx candies. Its move-list has not yet be revealed as of now.

A 2km egg is needed in order to hatch an IgglyBuff. It carries moves such as Body Slam, Feint Attack, Psychic, Pound and Shadow Ball. Feed it 25 Jigglypuff candies to activate its evolution.

Pichu pops out from a 5km egg. Some of its possible moves include Quick Attack, Thunder Punch, Disarming Voice, Thunder Shock and Thunderbolt. Growing it into Pikachu requires 25 candies.

Hatching any regular 5km egg can reward players with a Togepi, whose attacks are Zen Headbutt, Dazzling Gleam, Psyshock, Peck and Ancient Power. It consumes 50 Togepi candies to evolve into a Togetic.

A fire-loving Magby pops out of a 10km egg with attacks like Ember, Fire Punch, Karate Chop, Brick Break and Flamethrower. 25 Magmar candies can be fed to make it evolve.

Cleffa hatches from a common 2km egg and fights using Single Beam, Pound, Psychic, Body Slam and Zen Headbutt. Feeding it 25 candies can evolve it into Clefairy.

An Elekid can be hatched from a 10km egg. It uses Thunder Shock, Discharge, Low Kick, Thunder Punch and Thunderbolt. 25 Electabuzz candies can jump start its evolution.

"Pokemon Go" bonus: Santa Hat Pikachu

Players can go to a known Pikachu nest spot and search for this elusive creature. It appears randomly within the area, which requires gamers to try their luck.
