Developed and published by Endnight Games, The Forest is a game that you can play either by yourself or with up to eight other friends, according the game's official website.

The premise of the game is pretty straightforward. You, the player, happen to be the lone survivor of a passenger jet crash and you eventually find yourself stuck in a mysterious forest. As already mentioned, The Forest is a survival game and you will have to chop wood, scavenge for food, build your shelter, and do other things that will help you survive.

You can watch the game's trailer below:

Danger Lurks at Night in The Forest

When the sun high up in the sky, it is all about building and exploring when you play The Forest. You can even explore caves as well as underground lakes while you are it.

However, things change when the sun goes down and is replaced by the moon in the sky. From building and exploring, it is all about defending your base at night from your enemies. Who exactly are they?

The game's website describes them as "a clan of genetic mutant enemies that have beliefs, families and morals and that appear almost human." One things you should note about them is that they are also cannibalistic, according the game's Steam page.

You can opt to avoid them altogether by using your stealth to keep yourself safe. You also have the option to engage them in a fight and you can build your own weapons that you can use to defend yourself. The Forest also lets you lay traps around your base to help protect it.
