Raven Software has deployed a hefty update to mark the first season of Call of Duty: Warzone. This patch includes the new Urzikstan map, returning game modes like Resurgence, and a wide variety of new weapons at the players' disposal.

Dive Right In

The new Urzikstan map is one of the headlining features of Call of Duty: Warzone Season 1. This map gives players a large area to explore. To help players access different points of interest with ease, they can use the new traversal mechanic: Ziplines! Players can utilize ziplines to travel across challenging topography, such as going across bodies of water.

Aside from that, Urzikstan is home to Warzone's first mobile point of interest, the Drivable Train! Players can find an ammo depot and a Buy Station here so that they can stock up on supplies to help them eliminate the competition. What's more, the train will spawn at random points along the train track in each match, allowing some players to gain the upper hand early on, while some will be left fending for themselves with whatever they can find when they drop into the map.

To ensure that the pace works for everyone, Raven Software has set the match time to just 20 minutes. The company has also added new redeploy mechanics to encourage players to do something ballsy, such as the new Gulag Public Event, "Go Again."

Returning Modes

Resurgence returns in Call of Duty: Warzone and this mode is set in two locations: Ashika Island and Vondel. In this game mode, players who died in combat don't have to go to the Gulag for a chance to respawn. Instead, they only have to wait a brief period before they get automatically redeployed on the battlefield. However, this only happens when at least one of their teammates is still alive.

Another popular mode that has returned in Season 1 is Plunder. Now set in Urzikstan, the main objective of this game mode is for squads to earn $2 million by completing contracts, looting cash from the map, and of course, eliminating opponents.

When the threshold is reached, the match will go into overtime where cash values are doubled. This allows for some intense action to occur as opposing groups will have a chance to redeem themselves by earning more money. The team that earns the most amount of cash wins.
