Do you play the popular 2D farming simulator, Stardew Valley? You are probably having a fun time playing the game, but did you know that you can elevate your experience by installing mods?

Developer ConcernedApe actually allows players to install mods for Stardew Valley. Mods can alter different things - from upgraded farm layouts to quality-of-life features that are not normally present in the game.

With so many mods out there, you might have a hard time finding out the best ones. The good news is that we have curated a list of mods that are actually worth your time. So, without further ado, here are the best mods for Stardew Valley that you can install in 2024:

Gift Taste Helper

Part of Stardew Valley's charm is that you can foster relationships with NPCs by giving them their favorite gifts. While Google can certainly help you find the information that you need, it is just too cumbersome to have to exit the game to do just that. Is there a way for you to find out what Elliott likes without having to scour for information elsewhere? Yes, there is!

The Gift Taste Helper is a mod that provides helpful tooltips by hovering over an NPC's birthday on the calendar. The calendar is available in Stardew Valley via the "Social" page. This mod lists a number of items that you can give to your favorite NPCs.

In addition, the Gift Taste Helper now has a new "Progression Mode" that shows you only the gifts that you have already given to an NPC. This can be enabled or disabled by tinkering with the mod's settings.

Stardew Valley Expanded

Otherwise known as SVE, Stardew Valley Expanded takes the game to a whole other level. It adds a plethora of new content on top of the vanilla version of the game, including 260 character events, 50 exciting locations, and 27 new NPCs that you can develop relationships with, among many others.

According to the mod creator, FlashShifter, they want to give you that same magical feeling you experienced the first time you played Stardew Valley.

Stardew Valley Anime Mods

Do you want the villagers in Stardew Valley to look like anime characters? Well, the aptly named "Anime Mods" turn NPC portraits into cute and adorable 2D anime images. It is a collection of mods that alter the appearance of certain villagers, including Leah, Maru, and Sophia, and so much more.

Friends Forever

One of the most frustrating things that can happen in the game is when you lose friendship points with the people you haven't talked to in a while. This can certainly happen more often than not due to the sheer number of things you can do in Stardew Valley.

Mod creator "Isaac S" addresses this by developing "Friends Forever." This is a simple mod that essentially disables the Friendship Decay mechanic, so long as it is installed on your system.

With Friends Forever, you can freely do the stuff that you want in the game without having to worry about relationships going sour.
