A new character is coming to Mojang Studios' "Minecraft" game, at least as far as leak discovered by a fan most unexpectedly is concerned.

'Minecraft' Leak Claims a New Character Is Coming

Mojang Studios may have a new character on the way for "Minecraft," and fans found out about it through one of the most unexpected sources imaginable. A holiday ornament brand appears to have let the secret slip well before any official announcement was made.

A Reddit user named DrAwesomeX first noticed a new listing they found on Hallmark's website, which says that a new character called "Blub" is from the "Minecraft" game. However, the Redditor clarified that "Blub" will not be part of "Minecraft Dungeons 2" after fans speculated that this new character may be linked to that as the game is also releasing later this year.

The recently listed "Minecraft Blub" Keepsake Ornament for the unknown character drew significant attention online as Mojang Studios has yet to unveil it. The Hallmark website revealed the silhouette of Blub, featuring it standing on all fours and having long ears atop its head. Customers can order it for $22.99 starting October 10, 2026, just in time for the holiday season.

It remains unclear if this was an accidental listing from Hallmark as the Blub ornament remains available via its online store.

GameRant notes that Hallmark releases gaming-themed Christmas tree ornaments featuring iconic game franchises, including "Super Mario" and "Halo."

What You Might be Able to Expect

Very little is confirmed about Blub so far, but the timing of the Hallmark listing offers some clues. It would make sense for Blub to be revealed in time for a fall update, especially as Mojang Studios unveiled a new strategy for its "Minecraft" releases.

Mojang recently shifted from large annual updates to more compact updates coming out every three to four months, according to product manager Anna Lundgren. The move is meant to be more sustainable and allows the team to work on different features throughout the year.

For now, Blub remains unconfirmed by Mojang, and fans will have to wait for an official reveal. Fans will also have to wait and see what "Minecraft" has planned for the rest of the year, including potential new biomes to explore.
