Clash Of Clans Halloween Update Ending, But The Headstones And Skeleton Traps Live On! Supercell Skipping Thanksgiving Event, Goes To Christmas

The Clash Of Clans Halloween Update Is Ending; Long Live The Clash Of Clans Halloween Update

Much like that bag of candy sitting on my counter, all good things must go away eventually. The annual Clash of Clans update is one of them.

The update introduced the new Skeleton Trap, a permanent addition to your town's arsenal of traps that unleashes a flurry of skeletons when set off. A few other changes to how Clan Clashes dole out rewards to a new Mortar at Town Hall 8 were also added to the gameplay.

But let's face it, one of our favorite things about the Halloween update were the adorable graphic updates to the obstacles. Bushes had pumpkins in them, trees and trunks had 'spooky' faces carved into their bark. It was superfluous, sure, but it brought the season home well enough. The biggest, of course, were the Halloween Headstones, the new map obstacle that gives out significant Elixir when removed.

The pumpkins and faces are going away, but Supercell did confirm that the Headstones will be sticking around after the Halloween skins have gone away. So you can hang onto them and create your own personal graveyard to ward off any and all attackers. Admittedly, being able to rearrange the tombstones from the your opponents would be fun. I don't necessarily need the extra 20 Elixir each gives out, but it is still well appreciated.

Supercell tends to keep their holiday updates slanted towards a more global reach. So alas, we won't be seeing a Thanksgiving event this month. We will be seeing another Christmas update come December, though. What do you think will be coming this time?
