Fallout 4 Update: Companions Explained and Final Game Theme Revealed

The flow of Fallout 4 information moves on, continuously, with the latest snippet from the stage at E3. PC Games were able to go behind the scene to investigate the last video that was released and uncover how Dogmeat's animation came from a real K9.

PC Games went on to say that Dogmeat cannot die, according to the game's director Todd Howard. The director went on to say that any companion that goes with the player basically cannot die. They are invincible while in that state. The companions can be downed, but they can be revived easily through a stim pack, added the director. The game also has several companions aside from Dogmeat and these companions are basically a fit for different situations.

In related news, Fallout 4's developer Bethesda finally revealed the game's main theme, which is composed by Inon Zur. Zur is an award-winning composer/musician who wrote and produced all the scores for the entire Fallout series; including the father of all Fallouts, the 2001 release Fallout Tactics.

IGN sat down with Zur and had a quick chat with his contribution and said that it is a blessing for him to work on the scoring within the comforts of his own house. Apparently, Zur has a very nice grand piano sitting in his home and he recorded himself playing the game's main theme. When he presented the theme to Todd Howard, he did not know if Howard was happy or angry about it. He liked the piano but found the actual composition too bright for the game.

Zur went on to say that Howard together with Mark Lampert, Fallout 4's audio director, wanted a warmer sound that fits the setting of the game. The award-winning composer tweaked his original composition combining the sound of a real piano with an electric one, which brings a more round sound, which eventually paved the way for the score to sound warmer, compared to the first composition.
