Rainbow Six Siege Abandons Storyline Goes With Multiplayer Trend

Ubisoft, maker of the popular game Rainbow Six Siege, has confirmed that the game will not carry a storyline, which have been their bread and butter since its conception. Game experts and fans alike are somewhat expecting the decision since the multiplayer-only, first person shooting type of game has been dominating the scene so it wasn't really a surprise to see Rainbow Six Siege to go in the same direction.

The confirmation came from Ubisoft's Scott Mitchell during the recently concluded EGX 2015. Mitchell said during the panel, that Rainbow Six Siege will not carry a story mode but players can enter the training mode where they can experience the game's different operators and their devices.  He went on to say that players can go up against an AI through all the maps or customize matches, so basically, the game still offers a type of s single player feel.

Mitchell added that the training mode is a great avenue to get players accustomed to the game itself. They can also unlock contents, gain stars, and get points as well as obtain new operatives in the training mode. Also, Ubisoft formally announced that the game's current beta version for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC will extend its run to three days until October 1. The extension stemmed out from the issues with the game's technical test, experienced by some players who are unable to connect to individual and multiplayer matches.

Ubisoft released an official statement about the issue and extension of the beta version and said that so far, they are getting good feedback on the content and players who are unable to get into a match or matches are a simple bump in the road, which is of course expected during this stage of the development. The statement went on to say that they have already improved the stability of the matchmaking feature which is a good sign for Rainbow Six Siege fans. Also, Ubisoft admitted that despite the progress, the road ahead will be long and bumpy and assured their fans that they will bring the best possible gaming experience in order to live up to the game's reputation.
