Tom Clancy’s ‘Rainbow Six Siege’ News & Updates: What Is The Major Problem In Ubisoft’s Tactical Online Shooter Game’s Starter Edition?

Good news, "Siege" PC gamers! Ubisoft is now offering a streamlined "Rainbow Six Siege" experience through its new Starter Edition, which will have similar game features from the regular version except for its operators.

Tom Clancy's 'Rainbow Six Siege' Starter Edition

Tom Clancy's "Rainbow Six Siege" Starter Edition is reportedly available from Jun 2 to 19.

According to Info-Europa, interested gamers may visit digital distribution services such as Uplay and Steam to avail the "Siege" starter version for only $15 or € 15.

Tom Clancy's 'Rainbow Six Siege' Starter Edition Features

As Ubisoft announced, Tom Clancy's "Rainbow Six Siege" Starter Edition will provide a full and unique multiplayer experience that several gamers will surely enjoy.

It will also provide a full access to all the content and features available in the regular "Rainbow Six Siege" version.

In Tom Clancy's "Rainbow Six Siege" Starter Edition, the game features are similar from the standard version including the maps, mods as well as the different weapons.

Players will also have instant access to various characters such as Smoke, Fuze, Ash, Mute, Rook and Sledge, GameSpot reveals.

Additionally, 600RG Credits will also be included in Tom Clancy's "Rainbow Six Siege" Starter Edition. For a detailed note on "Siege" Starter Edition, please check Ubisoft's blog post and FAQ.

"The Starter Edition includes access to the same maps, modes, level progression, weapon options, post-launch content, servers, and matchmaking options as the standard version, with zero restrictions and no level cap," Ubisoft said in a statement.

Tom Clancy's 'Rainbow Six Siege' Starter Edition Difference

Even though Tom Clancy's "Rainbow Six Siege" Starter Edition has the exact content and features as the regular version, there's reportedly one major difference between them.

Unlike the standard version, operators in the Starter Edition of the game won't cost between 500-2,000 renown.

Meanwhile, a new character will be unlocked if a player has earned a substantially larger sum of 12,500 renown, compared to the required cost in the regular version, Game Rant noted.

The Major Problem In Tom Clancy's 'Rainbow Six Siege" Starter Edition

The recently announced Starter Edition of Tom Clancy's "Rainbow Six Siege" is a lot cheaper and seems to have promising features and in-game content. Unfortunately, Erik Kain of Forbes finds a major problem in it - time.

"This cheaper version of the game is only available between June 2nd to June 19th, and then it goes away," Kain wrote. "Granted, anyone who buys the game will have access to all its features forever, but there's only a very narrow window of time to even make the purchase. This makes no sense to me."

In other related news, Tom Clancy's "Rainbow Six Siege" 3.2 update has brought better bug fixes, improved performance and new balance tweaks on PC consoles.
