'The Blacklist' Season 4 Air Date, Spoilers, News & Update: Showrunner Reveals Biggest Challenges; Katarina Rostova Alive?

"The Blacklist" Season 4 is set to return with a big revelation as it will exactly start where the Season 3 left off. It looks like the casts of the American television series are going to deal with the biggest challenges of their lives with a fake death of a major character.

Showrunner Teased The Coming Of 'The Blacklist' Season 4

The show's creator/showrunner Jon Bokenkamp told Digital Trends that fans are about to see a lot of disloyalty between the casts of "The Blacklist" Season 4. Remembering the shocking revelations people behind "The Blacklist" Season 3 exposed, "it's going to be very difficult for them to put those aside and move through them," he added.

Jon Bokenkamp even teased that fans are about to witness "great stories" and weird but inimitable and unsafe "Blacklisters" in "The Blacklist" Season 4. In fact, he asserted that "The Blacklist" Season 4 is going to have "a very adrenalized emotional rollercoaster" turn of events.

Katarina Rostova Alive?

Meanwhile, Joke Bokenkamp also confirmed the return of Lotte Verbeek to reprise her role as Liz's (Megan Boone) mother, Katarina Rostova, Entertainment Weekly. The 34-year-old star's character has been introduced in "The Blacklist" Season 3 when she emerged in front of Red (James Spader), when he was mourning her daughter's death.

However, Joke Bokenkamp didn't reveal how Lotte Verbeek's character will appear in "The Blacklist" Season 4. But, there are speculations that she will be seen in another flashback, Cinema Blend cited. There are also assumptions that Katarina Rostova will be seen with her daughter, finally, the way Alexander Kirk (Ulrich Thomsen) made known that he is Liz's father in "The Blacklist" Season 3.

To recall, Katarina Rostova is believed to be dead and, actually, a myth in the previous seasons of "The Blacklist" as she killed herself by drowning. Then again, "The Blacklist" has been known for its characters who are trying to fake their deaths and later appears to be alive. "The Blacklist" Season 4 is set to be back on Sept. 22 on NBC.
