'Criminal Minds' Season 12 Air Date, Spoilers, News & Update: Thomas Gibson Suspended; New Series Regular Announced!

There are good news and bad news surrounding the coming of "Criminal Minds" Season 12 as it now has a new series regular, but someone got suspended. Even before it starts, the drama show is in a controversy as its star Thomas Gibson, who plays the role Aaron Hotchner, is expelled for a while from the CBS series.

Thomas Gibson Suspended

Thomas Gibson got suspended for, maybe, two episodes of "Criminal Minds" Season 12 because of getting into trouble with the TV series' producer. According to TMZ, the 54-year-old actor was in a heated argument with the unknown show's creator that ended with the director kicking him in the leg.

"There were creative differences on the set and a disagreement. I regret that it occurred," Thomas Gibson told the publication. "We all want to work together as a team to make the best show possible. We always have and always will." Although he admitted his mistake and felt sorry, his future in the show is now being evaluated.

The producer, on the other hand, didn't let the incident passed and called his agent to do a proper action. They talked to the CBS executives, who decided to give Thomas Gibson some time off to give him a lesson. The director's suspension in "Criminal Minds" Season 12 is not yet sure how long, but it has been said that he is not seen on the set for two weeks.

New Series Regular

Meanwhile, CBS announced on Wednesday that Aisha Tyler is now a series regular in "Criminal Minds" Season 12 as Dr. Tara Lewis. It seems like the new season is now full of stars as Adam Rodriguez is also now a series regular. Paget Brewster, too, will be back in "Criminal Minds" Season 12 to join the Behavioral Analysis Unit as an FBI supervisory special agent, Emily Prentiss, TV Line reported. "Criminal Minds" Season 12 is set to air on Sept. 28 on CBS.
