Dead Space 3 Release Date: Executive Producer Says PC Version Will Not Outshine Console Versions

Electronic Arts and Visceral Games' upcoming third-person shooter horror video game, Dead Space 3 will be about the same across the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and the Windows PC, according to executive producer Steve Papoutsis.

In a recent interview with ShackNews, Papoutsis said that the PC version of the game is not made to specifically outshine its console counterparts.

"It's confusing to me that this question even comes up," Papoutsis told ShakeNews. "It's by no means any less important to us; it gets a lot of attention. The PC is a very different platform. As developers, you want to deliver an experience that's as similar as possible on different platforms."

Papoutsis said Visceral Games made strides with its PC port of Dead Space 2, but that the studio wants to make sure that gamers have a similar experience across gaming platforms.

"In Dead Space 2, I felt we made some great strides in terms of controls, responsiveness and even the visual improvements we got into it," Papoutsis said. "We continue to evolve our games as we develop them, but we certainly don't target PC as something that's going to be significantly different. We aren't trying to create disparity in the experience that our gamers enjoy; we want to make sure everyone's having that same experience."

He explained that Visceral Games has a long history of making console games, but said that quality is the most important thing.

"At our studio, we've always made console games," Papoutsis told ShackNews. "The biggest thing is we want to make sure the quality of the experience is consistent across all platforms so we don't have one userbase saying it's better on their system."
