Eren Yaeger, a Survey Corps member tasked to protect and defend the city from Titans, try to figure out where and how they came to be. The first season ran up to 25 episodes and used 34 episodes from the origin manga.
Right now, "Attack on Titan" is on its 86th chapter, where the backstory of the Titans was further explained. The manga revealed that there were eight clans of Titans in the beginning, and the life of Ymir Fritz as the first Titan. It also explored the tragic relationship between Grisha and his sister Faye, who was allegedly killed by the Marleyans because of his stubbornness. Given this, it's likely that "Attack on Titan" Season 2 will introduce new Titans, including Ymir Fritz, and Eren Yaeger discovering that the Titans were not at all what they initially seem.
