‘The Sims 4’ Latest News & Update: Will EA Make Last Minute Game Console Version?

“The Sims 4” is set to have another expansion pack soon with “City Living”, a paid add-on that hopes to lift the fortunes of poor sales performing life simulation game installment. Being a paid DLC, it remains to be seen if the ploy will help the misfortunes with most folks opting to take up EA if added content are free.

As reported in a previous post, the decision to pass on game consoles for “The Sims 4” was reportedly done as a tactic best for business. The obvious angle here is that EA may have opted to pass on creating a game console version to save off the losses they have already garnered with the PC version.

Rather than a game console version, it seems that EA has opted to focus on enhancing "The Sims 4" content for PC users. Unless something happens in the next couple of months, “The Sims 4” will become the first one to shun a PS or Xbox version.

The move is seconded by “The Sims 4” producer Lyndsay Pearson. She previously mentioned on Twitter that no plans for a game console version are on the table and that all hearsay going around are plain rumors and nothing to take seriously, Neurogadget reported.

That said, a game console version of “The Sims” may best be reserved for “The Sims 5”. Though there is no confirmation of a fifth installment, it is hard to see EA passing on one, considering the game has been successful if viewed from afar.

Word has it that the future of “The Sims 5” depends entirely on how “The Sims 4” is able to survive its rocky performance. Some believe this should not be the case and instead be looked upon as a means to improve.

Either way, any game console version for “The Sims” is best awaited for “The Sims 5” though jumping an installment seems a bit uncanny.
