'Inhumans' TV series Release Date, Spoilers, News & Update: Is Primetime TV Ready For Them?

It seems like future plans for the "Inhumans" movie is not going to happen. Marvel Studios has just made an announcement that Black Bolt, Medusa, and the rest of the Inhumans will instead be making their much awaited appearance on primetime, giving them their own TV series.

The upcoming "Inhumans" TV series will still be given the movie treatment as it will be co- produced by ABC, Marvel, and IMAX. The first two episodes of the show will premier on IMAX compatible theaters, with IMAX owning exclusive rights for two weeks before airing on ABC early September next year.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the first season for the "Inhumans" TV series will run for eight episodes and will not be considered as directly connected to the events that took place on Marvel's other series "Agents of Shield." The reason why fans have that notion is because "Agents of Shield" has given hints to the existence of inhumans and started to introduce them throughout the show.

Although happy with this development, fans are still surprised with this move from Marvel, considering that they made the announcement for an "Inhumans" movie scheduled to be released in 2019. However, with "Agents of Shield" seemingly developing some of the rich lore of the "Inhumans," Marvel seems to had made a choice to expand the Inhumans lore as part of Marvel's television universe. Whether or not that is the reason why the 2019 movie was cancelled is yet to be known.

Either way, fans are no less than excited about the upcoming "Inhumans" TV series. Fans are elated that they will have a chance to know what this team of Superheroes are all about. "Inhumans" TV series is coming on the small screen in September 2017.

The "Inhumans" are based from the pages of Marvel Comics. They were introduced during the second season of "Marvel's Agents of Shield" which is part of Marvel's Cinematic Universe.
