'The Flash' Spoiler, News & Update: 'Shade' Episode Reveals ‘God Of Speed’ Villain Savitar; Speedsters Need To Worry

The first appearance of the villain Savitar from the last episode has become a threat to Barry Allen also known as "The Flash." The villain's name Savitar was originally derived from the Hindu god of motion.

"The Flash" episode titled "Shade" introduced Savitar for the first time. The TV series used the same name of the villain in the comics. Savitar is described as someone who will be a serious threat to the humanity. The physical appearance of Savitar is somewhat different from the original comics. Some fans say it could be a Decepticon from the "Transformers" film.

According to Comicbook, in the comics "The Flash: Secret Files and Origins," Savitar has no name and was an Eastern Bloc military pilot who came to power after Jay Garrick's retirement and before Barry Allen's debut. The Savitar character in "The Flash" comics was the fastest man alive, which he got from an infused super force energy.

His character from "The Flash" comics was described as a vicious, cruel man and believed that he got his power from a divine gift. Savitar used his power to extort knowledge from other speedsters including the young Max Mercury.

What makes Savitar unique in "The Flash" is his ability to absorb speed and motion from other speedsters, lend it to others and make them his followers. Collider reported that this role of Savitar in this season is to make it hard for the speedsters to protect the innocent from the villain's evil works.

In addition, like the other speedsters in "The Flash" Savitar can heal himself making the injuries disappear quickly. Also, Savitar has the ability of 'null-inertia field' which allows him to steal the speed from any incoming objects going on his way.

With all of this ability, Savitar will definitely present a big problem for "The Flash" considering Savitar can steal his speed and use it against him. Fans will see if the TV iteration will adapt Savitar's character from the comics. But as shown from the previous episode, there could be a chance that it will be different.
