Game developer, Telltale announced on twitter that "The Walking Dead: A New Frontier" will be released on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 as the first episode of the third season for Android and iOS users. The Telltale Games' "episodic graphic adventure" is based on "The Walking Dead" comics. The title of the first episode is not yet revealed.

Originally, "The Walking Dead: A New Frontier" was supposed to start on November but the first episode was moved further until December 2016. According to The Verge, the game is an adaptation of Robert Kirkman's zombie comic book series and not the popular AMC TV show, "The Walking Dead".
"The Walking Dead: A New Frontier" is a bit more of a time jump of the first two seasons that will focus on a much older Clementine. The players will be playing the new character Javier that was identified as "a young man determined to find the family taken from him". Javier will meet a young girl who has experienced her own unimaginable loss, as described by Telltale.
"The Walking Dead: A New Frontier" will also be available on consoles like Xbox 360, Xbox One PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PC. The game is one of the few non-sports gaming franchise that are still supported by seventh generation of consoles even if it is not so popular in the market.
Telltale will release an extended trailer for "The Walking Dead: A New Frontier" and will be part of the live streaming for the Game Awards on December 1. Fansided reported that there will be a Season Pass Disc for episode one of "The Walking Dead" that will be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
