"Guardians of the Galaxy" opened with a number of new characters that became instantly popular with the fans. One of these characters includes Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper) and "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" will have plenty to do with this superhero. The superhero is revealed to have a lot of stuff to do in the second movie.
If we look at the first movie of "Guardians of the Galaxy", the movie was about outsiders and strangers learning to find family in each other and this same theme will be adopted in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2". According to Sean Gunn in his conversation with Comicbook.com the movie will once again focus on relationships. "Oh yeah! Rocket has a lot of great stuff to do in this movie," Gunn said. "There are a few relationships that are central to the theme of the movie and that really go towards keeping a family... and Rocket has the same sort of crisis of faith about whether or not he belongs in this family."
Rocket will have a crisis of faith and will come to question if he belongs with the Guardians, and fans would theorize that this way of thinking has something to do with his origins. Aside from the emotional roller coaster that Rocket Raccoon will have in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2", another main focus of the sequel is Peter Quill (Chris Platt) who is in a journey to find his father, the living planet Ego, and the team goes on an adventure as they journey the cosmos.
The sequel basically continues with the team's adventure and sneak peeks include Yondu (Michael Rooker) becoming one of the Guardians while a trailer that was shown at Comic Con earlier this year also revealed that Rocket and Yondu became Ravager's prisoners. "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" will premiere in the U.S. on May 25, 2017.
