'Resident Evil 7' Latest News and Updates: 'Resident Evil 7' is Returning to Its Original Gameplay with Its Exploration-Based Puzzles

"Resident Evil 7" is right on track with its launch on Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4. But the game is still shrouded in mystery. What fans only know so far is a VR demo with no gameplay and a Lantern demo. Fans are still clueless if Capcom would still include the same action sequence present in "Resident Evil"  5 and 6. But one thing is sure, "Resident Evil" remains loyal to its brand of horror and is pushing it even further.

The early impressions of the fans who played "Resident Evil 7" may be more like its original gameplay than what most people previously thought, Develop Online reported. The impressions that they had, based on the four hours worth of gameplay, made it clear that the whole gameplay experience feels like a throwback to the original "Resident Evil" titles. It almost feels nostalgic as players are required to explore a certain area, solve various puzzles, and even figure out every piece of the story and the setting.

The similarities to the original "Resident Evil" don't just end there. Like the original gameplay, the player discovers a handgun, a knife, shotgun, grenade launcher, and a flamethrower- which are all the basic weapons in the game series. Players shouldn't expect these weapons to just plow through the enemies and survive. Instead, these weapons are more often used to try and escape perilous situations and give the player enough time to run.Although games such as "Resident Evil" and "Silent Hill" are having challenges with modern horror, "Resident Evil 7" was able to separate itself in smaller details.

According to Game Rant, the shift to the first- person adds a similar anxiety to other modern horror games released in the past couple of years. "Resident Evil 7" is scheduled to be released on January 24, 2017, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
