Even If pop singers Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato already have hit records and millions of followers on their social media accounts, Mariah Carey still does not know them. The legendary singer-song writer subtly threw shades on the two pop stars as she appeared on "Watch What Happens Live!".
A few years ago, Mariah Carey allegedly threw shade on Jennifer Lopez, saying she does not know the "I'm Real" singer. And now she's back at it, subtly dissing other stars - or maybe she is just not fond of taking trips down memory lane.
Mariah Carey sat with Andy Cohen on Saturday for an interview, as per Entertainment Tonight. Cohen then invited the "Shake it Off" singer to play a game called "Do You Know Her?"
Cohen collected names of today's most beloved pop stars for Mariah Carey to identify whether or not she knows them. And first on Cohen's list is J. Lo, the person who inspired it all.
Mariah Carey did not answer the question. But one of the audience said "No!" The legendary singer-songwriter then affirmed it by saying, "The audience member said it."
She was later asked if she knows Ariana Grande. Mariah Carey promptly replied, "No." The "Side to Side" singer has been compared to her when she was still starting her career.
But Mariah Carey seems as though she is really bad at remembering things. She said in a straight face, "I don't know when early in the career was." Even so, she explained that she is not really familiar with Grande as she only listens to hip-hop more than pop music.
Mariah Carey was also asked if she knows the "Stone Cold" singer, Demi Lovato. Like Grande, she is also unknown to the legendary singer.
The only person who was not subtly dissed on the list was Beyonce. Of course, who would dare to diss the Queen B? "I just love her," she said.
