Eidos Montreal Reportedly Developing A "Guardians Of The Galaxy" Game
The Marvel Cinematic Universe welcomed "Guardians of the Galaxy" back in 2014. Now, there are talks of high-profile videos games coming out based on the movie. Eidos Montreal is one of the studios supposedly handling its development. The developers focus on the new project is speculated to be the reason why Square Enix is putting another one of its titles on hold for the meantime.
One of the other game developers handling another game based on the Marvel comic books is apparently Telltale games. Fans are expecting the game to follow the publisher's visual adventure style. On the other hand, a recent announcement confirmed that Square Enix and Marvel are working on multiple video game projects. One of those is apparently going to feature the Guardians, according the Game Rant.
The Japanese RPG company was recently reported to be in process of reassigning key personnel from Eidos Montreal, which is speculated as the result of its "Guardians of the Galaxy" video game development. The shake up apparently led to the indefinite hiatus of its sci-fi RPG series "Deus Ex." The Montreal-based development team is suspected to be the one handling their latest venture, but recent news claim otherwise, that the team is working on "Shadow of the Tomb Raider"
Earlier last week, reports have announced that the comic book company and JRPG publisher entered into a multi-year multi-project contract. Therefore, the current speculations surrounding its reassignment of different projects appear to be within reason. According to Gamespot, the team that was handling "Deus Ex" will apparently helm the upcoming "Guardians" game.
"Guardians of the Galaxy" appears to be an ideal source for an action-oriented project for Eidos Montreal. The characters are apparently dynamic and their popularity will most likely translate well into a video game. The sequel to the movie is scheduled to come out this May.
