'League of Legends' Patch 12.3 Update Guide: Ahri Rework, Vel'koz VFX Tweaks, Champion Nerfs, Buffs, and More

League of Legends is expected to receive its Patch 12.3 Update, which will change several of the Champions in the multiplayer online battle arena's roster.

These said changes include a massive rework for Ahri, an update for Vel'koz's visual effects, and several balance tweaks for other Champions.

A Rework and an Update

As mentioned earlier, one of the changes that the Patch 12.3 Update will bring into League of Legends is the major rework for Ahri.

According to Dexerto, the said patch update will decrease its base Health and Armor stats from 526 + 92 per level to 500 + 82 per level and from 21 to 18, respectively. It will also decrease her Health Regeneration from 5.5 to 2.5.

Aside from the said decrease in her stats, her Skills will also receive either a rework or a tweak. Her Essence Theft passive will be reworked, making it heal at least 40-120 of her Health (+25% of her AP) after consuming nine Essence Theft stacks that she earned after killing minions or Jungle monsters.

When she scores a kill against an opponent Champion within 3 seconds of damaging them, she will also gain stacks of the said Essence Theft, which can heal 80-200 of her Health (+35% of her AP).

Her Orb of Deception Q Skill will have its mana cost increased from 65-85 to 60-100, and its ability power ratio will also be increased by 35%.

Her Fox Fire W Skill will have its damage dealt increased from 40-140 to 60-160, and its movement speed bonus duration will be extended from 1.5 seconds to 2 seconds, while its mana cost will be decreased from 45 to 25. However, the duration of its flames will be shortened from 5 seconds to 2.5 seconds.

The patch update removed the 20% damage amp from her Charm E Skill once it hits a target, but it increased its damage from 60-180 (+40% of her AP) to 80-200 (+60% of her AP), while it decreased its mana cost from 70 to 50.

Finally, her Spirit Rush Ultimate Skill can now extend its recast duration by up to 10 seconds after consuming an Essence Theft stack while the skill is active, while it will also grant up to three additional recasts.

Aside from the rework, its duration will be extended from 10 seconds to 15 seconds, while its cooldown will start after it was first cast instead of after all casts are over.

Aside from the Ahri rework, the Patch 12.3 Update will also give several changes to the visual effects for Vel'koz.

In a post in the League of Legends Public Beta Environment's Reddit page, Sirhaian, Riot Games' senior visual effects artist, said that the update will focus on making the said Champion a bit more in line with the rest of other Void Champions such as Kai'sa, Cho'gath, Kassadin, and Kha'zix.

According to Dot Esports, the said changes include making the visual effects for the projectile coming from its Tectonic Disruption E Skill even more visible by adjusting the respawn portal on the base with the Void theme.

They will also change the Area of Effect indicators from the Tectonic Disruption for both of its Blackfrost and Infernal Skins to make it more visually exciting, while they will adjust the missile width of its Plasma Fission Q Skill and the beam from its Life Form Disintegration Ray R Ultimate Skill.

Despite the said changes for its visual effects, according to Screen Rant, Vel'koz will remain the same once the Patch 12.3 Update rolls out.

Nerfs, Buffs

Aside from the aforementioned rework for Ahri and tweaks for the visual effects for Vel'Koz's Skills, the Patch 12.3 Update will also bring in changes to several of League of Legends' Champions.

According to Dexerto, Lillia's Sleep duration after casting her Lilting Lullaby Ultimate Skill will be lengthened from 1.5-2.5 seconds to 2-2.5 seconds, while the bonus attack speed from Quinn's Heightened Senses W Ability will be increased from 20%-60% to 28%-60%.

The damage dealt from the Skystrike of her Behind Enemy Lines Ultimate Skill will be also increased from 40% of her AD to 70% of her AD.

Zeri's Lightning Crash Ultimate Skill will no longer gain stacks from the hurricane, while the chance for Senna to spawn a mist Wraith after killing lesser Jungle monsters and minions will be decreased from 10% to 2.7777%.

Caitlyn's damage growth will be decreased from 3.8 to 3.4, and the damage to enemies once her Piltover Peacemaker Q Skill passes thereafter will also be decreased from 60% to 50%, while Amumu's AR per level will also be decreased from 3.5 to 3, and the maximum damage reduction from his Tantrum E Skill will be now 50%.

Corki's first package spawn time and its succeeding package respawn time will be increased from 8 minutes to 10 minutes and from 4 minutes to 5 minutes, respectively, while the single shot movement speed bonus from Akshan's Passive, as well as his three-stack damage, will be decreased from 35-75 to 20-75 and from 20-175 to 10-165, respectively.

Finally, the damage from Twisted Fate's Wild Cards Q Skill will be decreased from 60-240 (+65% ability power) to 60-220 (+70% ability power), and the attack speed bonus from his Stacked Deck E Skill will be decreased from 20%-40% to 10.40%, while the damage from LeBlanc's Distortion W Skill will be decreased from 75-235 to 75-215, and Nami's Passive will make her gain more movement speed.
