'Warframe' Xbox One Announced, Digital Extremes Bringing Free To Play Action Shooter To Microsoft's Console Soon

Developer Digital Extremes has announced that its free-to-play PC and PlayStation 4 title Warframe will be coming to Xbox One.

The action third-person shooter was available on PS4 at launch, and will be bringing its F2P model to Microsoft's console on an unannounced date. The official site promises to announce further details for Warframe on Xbox One in "coming months".

"Prepare to take advantage of the social connectivity and community building features the Xbox One console offers," the announcement statement says. "Game DVR will allow you to capture your greatest Warframe moments and share them with friends. Looking for bragging rights? You'll find them with a vast assortment of Xbox Achievements and Hero Stats.

"Utilize second screen functionality through SmartGlass and the Warframe Nexus App for Windows Phone, iOS and Android. Get important, real-time game information and stats such as Alerts to critical missions and the Codex, which provides key data on all the Warframes, weapons, Mods and more to help you strategize your game play."

Warframe puts you in control of powerful customizable "Tenno" Warframes, which you take into battle online. The main feature is cooperative play with other humans against AI enemies as you fight through levels with various objectives, though there are PvP offerings as well.

There are many Warframe types, all of which have different strengths, weaknesses, and abilities. You can unlock more Warframes, weapons, and upgrades through playing or purchasing currency. Check out the trailer below for Warframe on Xbox One.
