PewDiePie News: Number One YouTube Channel Reaches 34 Million Subscribers

Every Three Seconds Someone Subscribes To PewDiePie’s Channel

It's not news that PewDiePie's channel is huge. It's the most subscribed channel on YouTube and has managed to hit another milestone recently. As of January 24, Let's Play has made it to 34 million subscribers.

PewDiePie's rate of growth is insane. The channel adds one new subscriber every 2.9 seconds on average, reports Tubefilter. These numbers give PewDiePie an average of 30,300 new subscribers per day.

That's a massive amount of people watching his videos which of course, leads to massive earnings for the YouTube star.

This is still not his fastest rate of growth which happened in early 2014, when he was gaining a new subscriber about every second. So it has slowed down, but not substantially.

His closest competition only just crept past the 20 million mark in subscribers. A channel called HolaSoyGerman. I have no idea what it's about. It's in Spanish. There seems to be a lot of yelling though.

Still, subscribers do not necessarily equal views. Although, overall PewDiePie has managed to top those charts for the most part, there are some channels creeping up on the star, view wise. One of these is DC Toy Collector.

Subscribers may not be the best indication of views. There are many reasons why someone may not subscribe to a channel but still view the content. In the case of DC Toy Collector, it may be that their subscriber base is very young and don't hold accounts, for example.

Still, right now, PewDiePie is at the top of the game and although he's slowing down a bit, he's certainly not stopping.
