A bit of twist won't hurt
Candice Patton, the actress who plays as Iris West in "The Flash" seem to be open with the idea. She said that she was not expecting to have both Barry and Iris be in a relationship that easy, revealing that she was always been an advocate of having the relationship of the two slowly blossom.
She also stated that with these challenges and delays over the lovers' "happily ever after", it will just make it more special for the show. Patton also gave hope to the fans of "The Flash" that their relationship of Barry and Iris are destined.
Rumored crossover?
Another rumored possibility is a big crossover between several DC Comic series', with "The Flash," "Supergirl," "Arrow," and "Legends of Tomorrow". Stephen Amell once said in an interview that a major crossover is about to happen.
Now this opens up to the possibility for the season 3 of "The Flash" to a new romance. Grant Gustin once said in an interview that his character and Kara Danvers would make a great pair, and with a crossover about to happen in the upcoming sequel or in the future episodes of the different shows, this rumor might just come to fruition.
