'Dual Verse' Release Date, News & Update: Space Simulation Game Affected By 'No Man's Sky?' Will Use Voxel Technology To Build Structures?

"Dual Universe" is now making a name for being another online video game that promises a massive space simulation, but it looks like the game aficionados are not expecting too much. The new upcoming game is being compared to "No Man's Sky" that didn't surpass players' expectation.

'Dual Verse' Affected By 'No Man's Sky' Poor Performance?

Eurogamer noted that the players' high anticipation for another space simulation game, like "No Man's Sky," will never be the same. With that, it looks like "Dual Verse" will be affected by Hello Games' poor performance. In fact, this is the problem of the title's developer, Novaquark, right now as it is struggling to take its game over the line from Kickstarter. Novaquark founder Jean-Christophe Baillie admitted that the disappointment brought by "No Man's Sky" to the gamers is taking its toll on "Dual Verse."

"This is a post-No Man's Sky era. People cannot do the same thing. There's a huge amount of distrust in the community," he said after he finished the game's short demo. He even admitted that they are receiving a lot of comments on Kickstarter about the said title and they asserted that "Dual Verse" won't be another "No Man's Sky." "We're struggling. We're not quite there yet because of that. Our statement is we totally understand what's going on, and our policy is to be totally transparent," Jean-Christophe Baillie added.

'Dual Verse' To Use Voxel Technology To Create Beyond Simple Structures

Meanwhile, Novaquark released a new teaser to give a close glimpse of the "Dual Verse" voxel technology. The developer aimed to show to the game aficionados how it can offer the players the freedom to choose, create and edit gigantic structures "across the single-shard universe" composed of millions of planets, as per PC Gamer.

Novaquark is eyeing to go beyond the simple "cube-like aspect" in "Dual Verse" to allow its players to give more flexibility in whatever they want to create. The system's basic building blocks are made of the usual shapes, but every each of it is compiled of much smaller structures so it can be rendered in a very sharp detail in various distances. "Dual Verse" is expected to be released in 2018, while its Kickstarter campaign will run until Oct. 11.
