Last June 21, CBS' "Person Of Interest" concluded its 5-season run. It ended by killing off Reese, one of the show's major characters, after he successfully took down the Machine. The character of Reese was portrayed by Jim Caviezel. However, the fans still believe that there is still enough material to do a "Person Of Interest" Season 6.
Seen in change.org is a petition lead by Kaily Russell who appeals to "save" "Person Of Interest." Kaily Russell said in her write-up that "Person Of Interest" have created a large fan base. Also, being a part of the fan base allowed her to build great friendships and the show has given them thrill, tears, and laughter.
More importantly, "Person Of Interest" has created such a great social impact. It gave the fans LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) representation and truest representation of a mental disorder.
With these being said, the fans of "Person Of Interest" want either a redo of "Person Of Interest" Season 5, a spin off, an alternate universe, or anything where fans can have the whole cast return.
As what show-runners Greg Plageman and Jonah Nolan said in an interview with Deadline, it seems that they have already shut down the possibility of a spin off series. However, they admitted that they have once envisioned doing a spin off on the Control side of things. It could have been a great idea but Greg Plageman and Jonah Nolan said that it has already been done 3 seasons ago.
As for the opinion of the stars of "Person Of Interest" regarding the highly requested comeback, Sarah Shahi, who played the character of Sameen Shaw, has expressed her interest in coming back for her character. Especially now that "Person Of Interest" Season 5 ended with the Machine reaching out to her as a replacement to Reese, Sarah Shahi is most likely to grab it if even the chance.
For now, the fans could just wait for further announcement regarding their petition for a "Person Of Interest" Season 6.
