When you're getting half-a-million dollars for free, it's hard to be picky, but that seems to be the consensus among fans disappointed with Rockstar's decision to delay its Stimulus Package. However, provided no more hiccups, it looks like they'll finally get their small fortune sometime next week.
Rockstar had put off issuing the Stimulus Package until it could take care of some of Grand Theft Auto Online's other issues, and next week is when that is all set to happen as an enormous patch will arrive as Rockstar hopes an enormous patch will take care of all the issues.
A recent update to Rockstar's Newswire stated:
"Currently, we expect the next title update (1.05) addressing player progress loss issues to be available sometime early next week. Following that, we hope to deliver everyone's GTA$ Stimulus Package before the end of next week. A big thank you to GTA Online players worldwide for your continued patience and understanding and we will continue to keep you all updated."
Title Update 1.04 was supposed to clear the way for the patch, and gamers were on schedule to get that much richer. But Rockstar was a bit lax on providing an actual date when gamers could expect their online accounts to bulge. Rockstar formally issued a delay on the Package last week, writing, "We hope to have an update for you on that very soon. As others have mentioned here, we of course want to make sure player progress loss issues are addressed before providing everyone with their GTA$500K. Thanks for your patience and please stay tuned."
Since GTA Online went live (once they managed to get past the overcrowded servers), players have been reporting losing their cash, ranks, progress, and even properties like garages and apartments. The Stimulus Package was meant as an apology of sorts for these associated issues.
A post on the company's newswire originally detailed:
"In order to keep the current worldwide in-game economy balanced, we will be providing this GTA$ to players via two deposits of $250,000...Players will first have to install a forthcoming GTAV title update which we expect to happen next week. That title update (1.04)...will also enable the functionality through which we'll be providing this GTA$ stimulus cash to players."
