New Sniper Elite 5 Trailer Showcases Some VERY Brutal Ways To Kill Nazis

In the newest trailer for the latest instalment in the third-person shooter franchise, players get to see the myriad ways of brutally killing Nazis from a distance. But these aren't just highlighted killcams - rather, they're also a deep dive into the game's new features and modes, writes GameSpot.

Here is the latest trailer for you to feast your eyes on:

The trailer is pretty short, but it's still quite action-packed, all things considered. It offers a quick look at the different ways of eliminating Nazis aside from good ol' sniping. You can take them out with a quick stab to the heart or brain while sneaking up from behind, or use the environment to your advantage to get satisfying multi-kills.

Any Nazi you kill can also be stowed away inside boxes to keep them away from prying eyes, hinting at the game's renewed focus on stealth mechanics. But while sneaking about, you also need to take note of your shooting, as Sniper Elite 5 features advanced gunplay physics.

What that means is that every single shot will not just require precise aiming, but also thought. Is the bullet trajectory just right? Are the environmental conditions playing to your advantage? Take note of this whenever you line up a shot in this game.

But of course, what's a Sniper Elite title without a brutal killcam? With this returning feature, you'll get to see how perfectly placed your shot can get straight into a scummy Nazi's skull. You get to see the slug wreak absolute havoc on your enemies' innards, from breaking their teeth and jaw to turning their brains to mush on the pavement with a single shot.

Sniper Elite 5 is scheduled to release on May 26th on the Xbox One, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC via Epic, Steam, and the Windows Store. It will als release as a Day One title on Xbox Game Pass.

Other Interesting Stuff About Sniper Elite 5

It is understandable that you'd want to be cautious about every game coming out these days, considering the heaps of broken promises you've likely experienced over the years (*cough* Cyberpunk). As such, here are other interesting details about Sniper Elite 5.

In terms of overall gameplay, this game is the standard Sniper Elite fare. You get a handful of targets to take out one-by-one, and it is set once again in World War II but in France this time. However, Rebellion added a new game mode called Invasion, which works pretty much like that of Elden Ring.

Pocket-Lint writes that when you activate Invasion, a human-controlled sniper from the Axis faction will enter your game. Their mission is to take you out before you complete yours. You'll never know who or where they are - all you'll get is a quick reminder that somebody has joined your game. But this mode is optional if you want a true single-player experience.

Aside from that, keep in mind that Sniper Elite 5 will actually try to make it hard for you to just camp. According to GameSpot, there will be barely any sound cover, meaning that you can't stay in one place and shoot everybody like fish in a barrel. It would require a ton of patience as the game will force you to shoot, relocate, shoot again, and if things go haywire, have a planned escape route.
