'Guardians of the Galaxy 2' Latest News & Updates: Director James Gunn and 'Groot' Speak of Surprising Footage

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is a hit that definitely makes fans excited beyond comprehension. All the reactions, however, pale in comparison with that of actor Vin Diesel.

The actor that gave life to the character Groot from the original movie shared via social media one of perhaps the most authentic expressions of awe that he can give. With something that fans have not authentically seen yet, director James Gunn and and Diesel gave hints on what "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" will be about.

As seen in Vin Diesel's Facebook page, Gunn and Diesel spoke that "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" once showed a footage during the previously held Comic-Con 2016, which is what the actor saw and more. More than that, both talked of the recurring characters as well as the new ones that are set to hit the second installment.

According to Comic Book, the footage of "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" that Diesel saw left him in a near speechless state for a brief moment, asking for a minute to get himself together. Shortly after, the actor and director started to enumerate some feats to look out for, such as the lead character Chris Pratt once again taking the role of Peter Quill a.k.a. Starlord.

The same goes for the other people in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," Hypable reports, that are to make their returns. One is Yondu actor Michael Rooker, who they mentioned to be the standout star of the film.

Zoe Saldana who plays Gamora and Dave Bautista as Drax will take their positions. As a new face for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," Pom Klementieff will be joining the cast as Mantis.
