Marvel has announced back in April 2015 that they will be teaming up with Telltale and during the The Game Awards 2016, Telltale Games confirmed they will be releasing a "Guardians of the Galaxy" inspired game. The soon to be Marvel game is entitled "Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: A Telltale series" that will be released in 2017.

Telltale released a minute long trailer including their previous games "Batman" and "The Walking Dead: A New Frontier". However there were no mechanics or game play and even the characters of the game were not shown for "Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: A Telltale Series" according to the Verge.

The game will be a "five-part episodic series" where the first episode will be released on consoles through PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Andriod and iOS mobile devices and the PC."The energizing blend of humor, emotion, teamwork, and full-on sci-fi action-adventure of the Guardians provides an enormously satisfying space to explore through Telltale's unique style of interactive storytelling," said Keven Bruner the CEO of Telltale Games in a blog post.

"The Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series" players will be playing a lot of characters in the game where they take the pilot's seat in the adventures all over the universe and the galaxy. Since it is based on the movie, the players might be playing the role of Star Lord, Rocket Raccoon, Groot and the other characters from the "Guardians of the Galaxy" film.

"The Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series" is in line with the "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" film that will be released on May 2017 in theaters worldwide. The sequel of the 2014 film stars Chris Prat, Bradly Cooper, Vin Diesel, Dave Batista, Zoey Saldana and will be directed by James Gunn.
