Caitriona Balfe has been doing a lot of interviews lately to talk about the upcoming "Outlander" Season 3. The onscreen partner of Sam Heughan has a lot to reveal about the show and one of them is that they are going to be filming in South Africa.
"We will be filming in South Africa (which substitutes for Jamaica) next year, but we have not seen the scripts for that yet," Caitriona Balfe told GoldDerby. The "Money Monster" star also hinted that great new things are about to be witnessed in "Outlander" Season 3 and fans might feel that they are watching a different show.
"Outlander" Season 3 is set to reveal fresh new scenes and its filming in South Africa adds to the newness of the show. Caitriona Balfe also teased the romance between her character as Claire Randall and Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan).
In the same interview, Caitriona Balfe also hinted that "Outlander" Season 3 will feature a great love story that will be amazing in different ways. In fact, they are doing their best to make their relationship to look and feel real as much as possible.
Caitriona Balfe revealed that she is proud of the things she and Sam Heughan have done for "Outlander" Season 3 that makes people seem connected to the show. "I love that part of our show and I think it is important that we embrace it," she added.
With that, in previous seasons of "Outlander," the bond between Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan is truly evident. If truth be told, the "Now You See Me" actress said that they have so much fun doing their stints in "Outlander" Season 3. Is something real brewing between the two?
Caitriona Balfe explained that she and Sam Heughan get along incredibly well in "Outlander" Season 3 as they have the same traits and personality. They are both childish and have the same great sense of humor. However, she said that she has so much respect for the guy and one of his closest friends.
"We've gone through this crazy experience together and we're very similar people in many ways and for some reason it just works," Caitriona Balfe continued. "Outlander" Season 3 will return in 2017 on Starz.
