'Gotham City Sirens' Latest News & Update:Catwoman And Poison Ivy Joins Harley Quinn Spinoff; Margot Robbie To Produce The Film

"Suicide Squad" very own sexy jester, Harley Quinn is set to do her own spin-off movie together with other Gotham's female villains in the DC comics like Batman's love interest Catwoman and Poison Ivy. The Harley Quinn spin-off movie is entitled "Gotham City Sirens" that is inspired by the 2009 DC comic book series of the same title. The series will be directed by "Suicide Squad" sequel director David Ayer.

"Gotham City Sirens" will star Margot Robbie as she reprises her role as Harley Quinn and will also serve as a producer of the all-female lead movie. The top female writer, Geneva Robertson-Dworet, is set to write the screenplay of the "Suicide Squad" spin-off who is currently the writer of the upcoming films, "Tomb Raider" and "Sherlock Holmes 3" according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Aside from the "Gotham City Sirens", Margot Robbie is also involved in the Suicide Squad sequel which is in pre-production stage under Warner Bros. The movie will also be directed by David Ayer.

Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn was highly appreciated by fans for its characterization and comedic timing in the "Suicide Squad" which garnered more than $700 million surpassing Ryan Reynold's "Deadpool." Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy and Catwoman teams up together as they head to getting their selves into trouble at the same time to create a comradery between the female villain trios.

Polygon reports that the "Gotham City Sirens" was created by Paul Dini who also wrote for the "Batman: The Animated Series". There are still no reports on who will play Catwoman and Poison Ivy in the "Gotham City Sirens" and join Margot Robbie or details on when the movie will be released.
