No 'Overwatch' Valentines Nor Easter Special Events, According To Developer

The "Year of the Rooster" limited event for "Overwatch" has less than a week left before it closes out. Speculations have started to come up that Blizzard Entertainment is working on some follow-up event intended for holidays like Easter. Meanwhile, several players reportedly discovered some Valentine's Day voice clips during the Public Test Realm (PTR) last month, which had gamers suspecting another surprise in the works. However, the developer posted a tweet to quell those rumors.

Reports point out that a player sent a message to the developer to verify the game's chances of getting follow-up events, which might be themed around a holiday in April and a celebration of love in February. Blizzard clarified that they do not have anything planned for those dates. However, the developer was quick to confirm that there will be more special events in the future, according to a report from Game Rant.

Blizzard Entertainment's message that confirms the absence of an Easter and Valentine's Day special event seems disappointing, but due to the time and manpower required to develop a new "Overwatch" event, it seems understandable given latest event is still ongoing. Maybe the developer is working on a schedule to introduce a new event together with a bunch of character balance patches and possibly new content like a new DLC character.

Recent news about the game appears to indicate some new features are due to arrive soon. Some of these new elements include a reporting system for console players, a highlight saving option and the upcoming Server Browser for custom match searches. Additionally, the developer also reportedly confirmed that the game's competitive season three is scheduled to close by the last week of February reports PVP Live.

It seems like the Doomfist voice actor, Easter and Valentine's Day special events have to stay on most players' wish list for now. "Overwatch" continues to enjoy its successful seasonal events and almost all speculations expect Blizzard Entertainment to have more surprises in the future.
