OK GO News & Updates: OK GO's Latest Single 'The One Moment' Is Record-Breaking, Explosive & Mind-Blowing

The four-man band OK GO has been known to make innovatively creative music videos. Their latest is "The One Moment" music video which was shot from just 4.2 seconds of footage.

"The One Moment" premiered on Facebook yesterday. OK GO frontman and music video director Damian Kulash filmed the whole thing at record 4.2 seconds, making it the shortest amount of time ever filmed for a music video.

The whole 4.2 seconds was then stretched to a song's length with moments slowed down to 20,000 percent from real time. The frame speed made every movement seem like it was intricately choreographed in the OK GO music video.

Those 4.2 seconds seemed like a blink of an eye but around 325 events occurred. There were colored powder blasts, an OK GO band member coming alive in a flip-book, exploding balls, falling colored balls, exploding balloons and more exploding guitars.

While on a break from shooting the Late Show With Stephen Colbert, The Rolling Stone interviewed OK GO frontman and music video director, Damian Kulash. He spoke about his fascination and the beauty with slow-mo footage.

The OK GO music video had dreamlike imagery, with themes of reflection celebrated in slow-mo greatness. Kulash added that when they were trying to come up with ideas for the video they wanted it to have a sense of emotion and earnestness.

Most of the videos of OK GO have a happy wondrous theme. This time, they wanted to do something wondrous and magical with a bit of nostalgia and melancholy.

Kulash of OK GO expressed that he loves the song and it's meant to make listeners think of the few moments in life that really matter. He wanted to translate that message into something visual in the music video.

The 4.2 seconds video took actually 7 weeks to complete. What might look like one take was actually shot using robotic arms and several ultra-high-speed cameras. Orchestrating the OK GO video needed complicated calculation and coordination with robot technology.

OK GO started going viral with their single "Here It Goes Again", a synchronized treadmill routine a decade ago. Since then, they've been pushing the limits of creativity with their next videos.
